Desolation Peak Ridge
From The Canyon’s Ninety-Nine 90 lift I snapped a photo of the Desolation Peak ridge line. Although this ridge is accessible from the resort, the normal danger and warnings of avalanches in the backcountry are presented before you enter over.
With just a few dozen lines taken as you see here, the snow was plenty deep enough and tracks untouched to make the extra hike over along the ridge certainly worth the work before I give up on my snowboarding season completely.
Sunrise on Timp
We had some great snowfall yesterday which lasted overnight to cover our nearby mountain peaks, including this photo of Timpanogos from my front room. Winter is definitely on its way, and I’m psyched to get snowboarding again soon!

Flickr Wax
These last few Saturdays, I’ve been waxing our skis and snowboards in anticipation of the 2011-2012 ski/snowboard season and our local resorts here in Utah opening.
I went to a local snowboard shop and purchased some all-temp (pink) and cold temp (blue) wax and mixed them by pressing both to the hot iron.
This photo is was taken after I spread the wax drops, and am about ready to scrape.

Sundance Bluebird
Lately, I’ve been spending my weekend and nights on the slopes at Sundance Ski Resort. Taken with the iPhone 4S.
Sunburst on Snowstake
This weekend, we went up to Sundance Resort to enjoy the snow and views again. After coming down a run called “Snowstake” I looked back up to see the sun just coming over the ridge.
