Humming Along
A first attempt to capture a few hummingbird photos. We have a feeder in the backyard, and while shooting with my Nikkor 50mm 1.4 D and tripod, was able to get close enough to not scare away this lone bird.
I obviously have some practicing to do - as I would have liked better lighting around the eye/neck area. But - as a first pass, this was a lot of fun! I have my eye on a 70-200mm 2.8 in the future, which will certainly help.

Local Fledgling
Sometime near summer we suddenly had 3-4 fledglings around our yard. They were each shedding baby feathers and out making attempts to fly. We watched and cheered, hoping that each of the birds would make it to join their parents who watched over and fed them during this time of the year. EXIF:
